In recent weeks, I have opened the YouTube app on my iPhone each week just to watch DeStorm Power’s “Caught,” an R&B web dramedy.

Similar to R. Kelly’s “Trapped In the Closet,” which the artist released from 2005-2012, DeStorm’s “Caught” begins with an intense brawl when DeStorm’s girlfriend, played by fellow YouTube personality JaNina catches him with his side chick. Throughout each one minute episode, we meet various characters including his girlfriend, side chick, his best friend, best friend’s girlfriend, Uber drivers, and a multitude of flawed individuals.

The YouTube personality, musician, former Viner, and comedian recorded all the background vocals and lines himself. DeStorm began this series April 9 and has already released 16 episodes and more are on the way. This series has gathered over 12 Million views on Instagram alone and almost 3 Million views on YouTube.

Each episode, released on Sundays, is only one-minute long and ends on a cliffhanger. If you are fans of YouTube and Instagram stars such as KingBach, Leli Hernandez, Janina, Taylor Stevens, and others, you’ll like “Caught.” DeStorm even hosts a behind-the-scenes interview style session with a cast member each week so you can find out more about what it like for them to pull some of the stunts they did (like KingBach reacting to a real taser).
